Cancellation and notice terms

This covers what happens if a project or a retainer ends before it was due to. Freya sells services rather than goods, so this is not a returns policy — there is nothing to send back.

Freya works with businesses. EU and Bulgarian consumer law gives consumers a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract, but that right protects someone buying outside their trade or profession, and Freya’s clients contract for their business.

That depends on the client genuinely acting in a business capacity for the engagement in question, not on how this site is marketed. Anyone approaching Freya for a purpose unrelated to their trade or profession should say so, because consumer protections could then apply to that particular contract regardless of what is published here.

If you cancel before work on your brief has begun, the deposit is refunded in full.

If you cancel once work has started, we keep the part of the deposit corresponding to the work actually completed, calculated in proportion to the deliverable’s overall scope. Never more than the deposit you paid, and anything beyond the value of completed work is refunded.

This is payment for work genuinely done, not a charge for cancelling.

The monthly retainer renews each month. Either side can end it with 30 days’ written notice, taking effect at the end of the current monthly period. Work already scoped for the final month is completed and delivered as normal.

Anything paid for in full is yours to keep and use, under the ownership terms in terms of service. Work still in progress, or not yet paid in full, stays with us and is not licensed for your use until it is paid for. Cancelling does not change that; it stops further work.

If we fail to deliver part of the agreed work through our own fault, that undelivered part is refunded in full.

If we deliver work that materially fails to meet the agreed brief — through our error rather than a change of mind about scope — you get a refund proportionate to the part that is genuinely unusable, or we agree a fix first if that gets to a good outcome faster.

There is no blanket satisfaction guarantee. Professional writing is judged against a brief, and guarantee language belongs in marketing copy this site deliberately avoids rather than in a contract.
